Accident and Emergency Services

At Forest House, we have consultations available 7 days a week, including late nights on a Tuesday and Thursday until 8pm, for you to see one of our vets if you are worried about your pet.

In addition, outwith our core consulting times, we provide emergency consultations from 8am until 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm at the weekend and on bank holidays. Please call 01753 865669.

Should your pet need to be admitted into our hospital between 8am and 9pm, they will be cared for by our on-site nurse thoughout the day and night and receive all the medical and surgical support and care which they require, from our own team. We have a nurse on-site 24 hours a day and clients are able to contact the nurse directly by phone for updates regarding their pets.

Outwith these times, we have partnered with Vets Now, a well-established and trusted provider of veterinary emergency and critical care. Their vets and nurses are experienced and passionate about treating pets in the accident and emergency setting. They share our enthusiasm for providing the very best in veterinary care and we wholly trust them to do their very best for our patients.

What to do in an emergency

Should your pet become unwell or be involved in an accident, please call 01753 865669
Overnight, you will be transferred to the Vets Now team. They may suggest an initial conversation with a Vets Now veterinary surgeon or nurse to determine your pet’s needs and will advise whether you should go straight to the nearest practice to your location.

The nearest Vets Now clinics are situated in Staines (01784 557578) and Reading (01189 594007). This will be made very clear to you at the time to minimise stress and ease your arrival at the correct clinic, and directions will be provided.

Should you need to attend the clinic, the Vets Now team will provide a full consultation and examination of your pet, and talk through treatment options with you. You will be kept informed of fees throughout and payment for any treatment will be made directly to Vets Now.

To ensure continuity of care, our Vets Now colleagues will provide us with in-depth reports of any treatment received by our patients first thing the next day, so that we may follow up with any necessary action and ensure your pet’s clinical records are kept fully up to date. We will also be in contact with you the next day to check on your pet.

In addition, we provide a free service to collect any patients hospitalised overnight and bring them back to our hospital in Windsor for ongoing care.
